Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

A&S Equipment (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (the Act) in how we collect, use, disclose, and store personal information. Personal information means information about an identifiable individual.

This policy explains what information we collect through asequipment.nz, why we collect it, and what rights you have. It doesn’t limit any of your rights under the Act. For more on the Act itself, see privacy.org.nz.

Information we collect

We collect personal information when you interact with our website, including:

  • Enquiry and contact form submissions — when you submit an enquiry through a product page or our Contact Us form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, region, and any message you provide.
  • Automatically collected information — like most websites, we use analytics and advertising tools that collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, how long you spend on the site, and how you arrived at asequipment.nz.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — our site uses cookies for analytics and advertising, described below.

We don’t sell products online through this website, so we don’t collect or store any payment or card information.

Cookies and tracking tools

We use the following tools on asequipment.nz:

  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager — to understand how visitors use our site (which pages are viewed, how people navigate the site) so we can improve it.
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) — to measure the performance of our social media advertising and to show relevant ads to people who’ve visited our site.

These tools may set cookies on your device. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Turning off cookies may affect how parts of the site work for you.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your enquiries about our equipment, parts, service, or financing
  • Understand how our website is used so we can improve content and navigation
  • Measure and improve our advertising on Google and Meta platforms
  • Meet our legal obligations

Disclosure of your information

We don’t sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us run our business and website, such as our web hosting provider, Google (Analytics, Tag Manager), and Meta (advertising)
  • Landini, LiuGong, Greenworks, or finance partners where necessary to action a specific enquiry you’ve asked us to pass on (for example, a finance pre-approval enquiry)
  • Authorities, where required by law, such as under a court order, or to prevent fraud or other crime

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as it’s needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, whichever is longer. Enquiry and contact form data is generally retained for as long as we have an active or reasonably foreseeable business relationship with you, and deleted or anonymised after that unless we’re required to keep it longer.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, or disclosure. This includes securing our website and working with reputable, security-conscious service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information as safe as possible.

Children’s privacy

Our website and services are intended for business and adult use and are not directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask for a copy of that information
  • Ask us to correct it if it’s wrong or out of date
  • Ask us to explain how we’ve used or disclosed it

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before releasing or correcting information, and there are some limited grounds under the Act on which we can decline a request.

If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your personal information, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
